Is Oasa really free?+
Yes. The whole app is free, with no ads, no upsells popping up while you work, and no paywalled core features. We may add an optional premium tier later for power features (extra Oases, themes), but everything you need to focus is and always will be free.
Why "calm productivity" — what does that actually mean?+
Most productivity apps borrow from gambling: streaks, badges, red numbers, dopamine bait. Calm productivity is the opposite: no punishment for taking a day off, no shrinking gardens, no "you broke your streak" notifications. Just a quiet space to do meaningful work.
Is Oasa good for ADHD?+
Many of our early users have ADHD and tell us the Hyperfocus quadrant + Tend timer combination works well — one task at a time, visible progress, no overwhelm. We don't make medical claims, but we built the app with neurodivergent feedback in mind.
How is Oasa different from Todoist, Things, or TickTick?+
Those apps are excellent task managers. Oasa is a focus app first and a task manager second. The Zen Garden, Tend sessions, and brand language ("Plant", "Harvest", "Let It Rest") all push you toward doing fewer things deeply, not more things quickly.
Does Oasa use AI?+
No. We deliberately do not use generative AI to rewrite, summarise, or "coach" your tasks. Your thoughts are yours. If you want an AI assistant, this isn't that app.
Where is my data stored?+
On servers in Switzerland and Germany, encrypted at rest. We never transfer your personal data outside the EU/EFTA. You can export or delete everything at any time from Settings.
Do I need an account?+
You can try Oasa fully offline on your device. An account is only needed if you want to sync across devices or back up your Garden.
Which platforms are supported?+
Oasa runs on iPhone (iOS 16+) and Android (8+). iPad and a quiet web reader view are on the roadmap.
Can I use Oasa for a team?+
Oasa is intentionally single-player. Team productivity tools already exist; we wanted to make a tool that respects the part of your brain that thinks alone.
Why a garden?+
Because gardens don't punish you. They reflect what you tended. Miss a week — the garden waits. Show up — it grows a little. It's the right metaphor for sustainable, kind productivity.
